Happy 2018 everyone. I meant to write something sooner but I’ve been having some back issues since forever actually, but the day after Christmas it got worse. I won’t go into this much – it’s been tough and I just couldn’t sit or stand, or do anything else for that matter, for long. Sitting at my desk was a no-no, but since yesterday I have been feeling much better and I wanted to get back here to post a little something. It’s been too long.

Revised Recipe: Christmas Logs
This revised recipe has been long overdue, and to be honest it’s been sitting on my desk ready to post for a few weeks now. Instead of three logs, you get four here, but the basic method is still the same. I’m sure many of you have already made them, as have I but some readers are still asking me for it and although I do have a recipe posted a few years ago, I think this updated one is slightly better.
Coffee Date #7 (Catching up and some Social media updates)
Hello everybody. Hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been meaning to write another one of these for so long but life has completely taken over. As it always seems to do. One thing has remained quite constant though: readers of this blog just reminded me that the time for another coffee chat has lapsed and it was high time for an update.
Without taking away anything from these lovely people, I’m always taken by surprise when I get asked for updates. I’m glad many of you find these useful, and if not that, sufficiently entertaining. As I have said before, as much as I love reading about people’s life and adventures, I lead a small life and I’m constantly wondering why my readers keep coming back here. I’m so glad they do.

My Christmas Recipe List
Hey everyone! I hope you’ve been having a good few weeks. I have been out of sorts lately. December is not my month – I’m not too big on Christmas. I do the usual stuff and J and I have our family over for lunch which proceeds into afternoon tea and evening drinks. We don’t mind at all, but I cannot deny that by the end of the day I’ll be totally zonked out. It is a quiet day, and I make sure to plan ahead. This year I’m still going through lists and things, and year after year I feel like I’m falling behind. However it all turns out all right in the end so I’m not going to worry. I decided it’s just not worth it.
Braised Lamb with Aromatic Spices
WordPress is acting up, but to make up for the lack of recipes last week, I have an additional post for you for this week. Also I’ve been receiving some requests these days in the run-up to the holidays. This is the first for this season. For me, this recipe is an oldie but a goodie, as they say. And it’s comforting. December has officially started – I say officially because culturally Christmas begins way to early. One of my neighbours has had her tree up for more than three weeks. That’s crazy if you ask me. I don’t think I’ll have mine up till next week, together with the traditional Bambin (Baby Jesus) and/or Presepju (Crib). And some things are still in boxes anyway. I’m learning slowly is the less I have the happier I am. I’m still working on that.
