These are a set of photos I took at Hughenden Manor. By far it was one of the most enjoyable visits, mostly because of the variety of images I managed to capture. Also I was in the mood of taking loads, which to be honest, rarely happens these days. The weather really helped though. One of the first things I learnt from J is that sometimes the gloomier it is, the better your pictures will be. The problem is that for me, gloomy weather means less inspiration. However, this was not the case here. The clouds removed any extra glare and intensified the colours.
This is just another quick bluebell post before we won’t be able to see them again till next year. These photos were taken a few days ago on my second no, third visit, to Winkworth Arboretum. It was a miserable day, very gloomy. It seemed like winter, minus the colder temperatures. There were a few breaks in between the downpours and we managed to take a few interesting shots.
I know that my readers come here for recipes and foodie photos and this week I have got quite a few blog ideas in my head. Birthday’s coming up and I have a couple of cakes and recipes lined up for later on. So there will be such a post here very very soon. However the past few weeks have been all about bluebells, flowers, cake and coffee, and we’ve been visiting a few National Trust places to get our fill! I couldn’t just let the whole thing pass by without a special mention. I know you will forgive me for that.
As promised, here are some other photos of the garden at Sissinghurst. I’m no good at taking these kind of pics; food is more my thing, but my husband J has some stunning photos, not only of National Trust properties, but of landscapes in general. So please, don’t think I’m doing any justice to such beautiful surroundings. I’m still learning and I know I’ve got a long way to go. I hope you still enjoy them as much as I loved taking them.
I usually leave non-foodie pics for the weekends, and I was going to do exactly that this week. However, as I was doing some light editing, I concluded that including all the photos from our day trip to Sissinghurst in Kent was going to be a tad too much for just one post. So these are the first few. I will include the rest in the next one. I hope you will bear with me.
