Some ramblings on Doubt (intro to Coffee Date #6)

IMG_20160510_160835Hello everyone! How have you been all doing? Really, tell me. I’m always interested. These have been an eventful few months and I honestly don’t know where to start. I can’t believe that the last coffee chat I posted was in January. It’s already mid-May and I feel it’s been too long since I wrote that.

Coffee Date #5 and Six-year Blog-versary

cappuccino-5820This morning I realised that this blog has been active for six years, almost to the date. I was going to let this pass without any acknowledgement, but J insisted. So here I am, and we meet again. However do I really need an excuse for another coffee date? Was the latest one in June? Shish!

So after we stand and wait for our cappuccinos, first and foremost I want to properly wish you a Happy New Year! I hope that 2017 has started off well for you. The ‘with a bang’ thing is not that important. What 2016 has taught me is how much I shouldn’t take anything for granted and to live one day at a time. I’m not going to lecture you – there’s no need to. I just want to thank you for being there. What are your plans for this year? I don’t get the concept of resolutions but writing down some thoughts works for me.

Coffee Date #4 and a Tuna, Cucumber and Olive Salad as a bonus

IMG_20160119_160228I think it’s time for a coffee update. Have I told you how much I enjoy writing these? And today I really need this. So while listening to the Mood Booster playlist by Spotify, just because the classical one was becoming a bit too much, I’m here for a little chat. Preferably over an iced latte. This is a long one, but this is how I originally wrote it so I hope you do have a little read.

Coffee Date #3 (aka #weekendcoffeeshare)

Here's-Looking-at-You-(130218)Let’s imagine we’re just having a chat over coffee, or tea if that’s more your thing. It’s been a while since my last post. You will forgive me for not being here during these past couple of weeks, and even if this comes to you late, I still want to wish you a Happy Easter. To those who don’t celebrate I wish you a Happy Spring. I feel I have been missing for too long, so here’s a little life update for you.

Coffee Date #2

Coffee at the Old Spitalfields Market (0467)C&T has by now become quite the fixture in my life. I find myself thinking about new recipes and reviews continuously, especially when I’m doing the usual mundane things, which most of the time are house chores. Stirring a soup in the kitchen is also included in this list, although funnily enough it’s not as boring as it seems for me. Anyways, all this is to tell you that I feel I haven’t had a proper catch up with you in ages.

A few months ago, I registered for a couple of online short courses with WordPress. One of the writing tasks was exactly like this – a kind of coffee chat/date, and I’m thinking about making it a series on this blog. I’ll try to post them regularly, although not that often as to become mind-numbingly tedious! That’s not my plan at all. I don’t keep a journal for various reasons, however this format of blog writing could serve me well.

Sorrento Coffee Cup (9848)

One of the dilemmas presented to someone running a blog is that most of the old posts are lost as the weeks and months roll by. Also it’s very easy to forget that as well as your regular readers, who know you a lot if you’ve been blogging for years, you have new ones stopping by. Most of these readers are bloggers themselves, or rather that’s what happens here on C&T. Readers, both old and new, are the backbone of a blog. Without them, and your support, I would have stopped doing this ages ago. When I saw the assignment this morning in my inbox, I thought I wasn’t going to do that at all because for these past few weeks I have written some important personal stuff on here, and sounding repetitive was not worth the risk, or so I thought at the time. However chatting over coffee is something I look forward to when meeting friends, giving a little update using this format doesn’t sound too bad. Let’s see.
