Have you ever lost something precious and never found it? Or better, you found it when you forgot about it or when you just gave up? So happened with this recipe. I meant to post it months and months ago but my notes and ingredients went missing. Lost in the vortex that was my study and computer files. The one day, when my mind was in a writing funk, I decided to go work in one of my favourite coffee haunts. When I cleared my head I decided to sort and back up some writing stuff I had produced over the past few weeks, and there it was. If I wasn’t surrounded by people I think I would have had a happy dance moment. I know there’s the dance-as-if-no one’s-watching clan out there but I guess it would have been too much in a coffee shop and I would have risked being persona non grata if I did that.

There’s not a lot I can say here, except that I bought this beautiful veg and fruit box a few weeks back. I was so happy with it that I snapped a few pictures as soon as it was delivered to me, at around 9.30pm on a weekday night. If you know me personally you will have no doubt as to how much I miss our years in Surrey. Please don’t think that everything was plain sailing; nothing in the real world is totally charmed. There were times when I cursed its size (for years I wished for a larger space as I was constantly running out of workspaces) but now that this wish is granted I do tend to feel lost. I was saying that to my beautiful Mum this morning. She understood.

Since we were on the subject of sides, a.k.a. accompaniments
but I hate that word! I wanted to write a little post about something J and I picked up while watching an episode of Food & Drink. If I remember well, that episode was called Every Last Crumb. I have missed some episodes here and there, which is a pity, but I really wanted to catch up on this one. Apart from inviting Mary Berry as a guest, the baking queen herself, the topic was of course, food waste.
