Hello. I’m Roberta – food lover, chocoholic, tennis fan, and a student of photography, which is why you will also see a few non-foodie pics on this blog. After living in Michigan (US) and in the UK for a decade with my husband J, we are now back in Malta for good…well, at least for the time being.
I love spending time in the kitchen. A little more than a decade ago, I decided to teach myself how to cook. I spent a lot of time alone, and so I baked, and baked, and baked some more with the help of some basic cookbooks. Since then, my book collection has grown quite a bit, and the time spent in the kitchen is mostly a joy. I say mostly because there are days when leftovers are lifesavers. Then I decided to start a blog…
Chorizo & Thyme is about sharing and discussing kitchen experiments, including recipes I’ve tried or modified, other food related thoughts, and other non-food things peppered here and there. You will also find a few book reviews and loads of pictures. If you like reading wordy stuff (I’m trying to keep it kind of short but sometimes I don’t) and a little storytelling, I welcome you to linger. I upload photos and recipes regularly, once and sometimes twice a week.
I also tend to post non-foodie related musings in between recipes. Please note that I don’t exclusively write about food all the time. I love documenting life in general and although food is a big part of my life, it’s not the only thing I do. Writing about food and about what I’m up to in general is something I love doing and it’s the reason why I keep C&T going.
Be aware though: you will never get perfect grammar here. With C&T I strive to be as informal as possible – with many anecdotes before almost every recipe. I don’t like formalities in every aspect of life, so what you see is what you get.
If you happen to stop by write to me. I would love to hear from you. Also, should you wish to license any material or if you’re interested in prints, please feel free to get in touch. I can also be found on:
And if you want to know a little bit more about me and what makes me tick, I wrote some more thoughts in a blog post. It’s a long one. You’ve been warned!
