A Retrospective: London 2015 (2)

The View from Primrose Hill (0456)I’ve said before that I don’t take as many photos as I would like whenever I’m in my favourite place. And the second trip to London last month is another confirmation of that. Going through the album I managed to edit a few which I liked, but unfortunately I had to discard quite a number. Which left me with these.

The View from Primrose Hill (0455)If you love London and/or visit it often just because you want to, you must have been to Primrose Hill. I’ve never been there before (I know, what was I thinking?!) but I wrote it on my list this time. I wanted a few snaps of that magnificent view. We couldn’t not go there this time. We were staying so close to it. Also, I don’t know how many times we walked past Abbey Road Studios. Did I take some photos? Of course….not!

There’s nothing quite like London’s skyline. A few years ago, while we were still in Surrey, J took a great shot of London from a distance. I think that it’s one of his best photos to date. Of course, we were much closer to it that day, and the lighting unfortunately wasn’t good. It was one of those grey, gloomy, cold, windy autumn days and to be honest I didn’t want to be outside. When we arrived at the top of the hill though, I was reminded why I wanted to be there.

The View from Primrose Hill (0453)This next one is that of some ducks, or rather geese now that I’m looking back at the photo, in Regent’s Park. I took that during the same day we went up to Primrose Hill. The Park is practically a short walk away. This guy came right up to me. Show off.

The Ducks in Regent's Park (0465)So I started with the most interesting ones. Now it’s onto some more random stuff. I couldn’t not include the Christmas tree we walked by in Spitalfields Market, and the classic, or rather the customary coffee shot. Excuse the pun. Sorry I just had to. I don’t know what it is with me and coffee. We go way back.

Christmas Tree at the Old Spitalfields Market (0539)Coffee at the Old Spitalfields Market (0466)My Kind of Department at the Old Spitalfields Market (0468)Will be back with a recipe next time. In the meantime, Happy New Year!

  1. Ah London… I miss it. Thanks for sharing the photos! I hope to go back this year. My husband is from there and we don’t visit London nearly as often as I’d like!
